To strengthen India’s startup ecosystem and build a community of local entrepreneurs, we are thrilled to launch Flipkart Leap – our very own startup accelerator program. This 16-week program includes hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentor sessions, master classes from industry experts and networking events designed to turbo-charge your startup journey.

Our Program

India’s startup landscape has no dearth of creative and entrepreneurial potential, but startups often lack the support to navigate challenges & scale. To strengthen India’s startup ecosystem and build a community of local entrepreneurs, we launched Flipkart Leap – our very own startup accelerator program.

We invited innovative and disruptive startups with the potential to transform India’s digital landscape and have received an overwhelming response from the best in the country.

For our Cohort 1, we chose 8 startups covering the gamut of consumer internet and technology space. They went through a 16-week program that included hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentor sessions, master classes from industry experts and networking events designed to turbo-charge their startup journey.

For our Cohort 2, we have a lot of exciting things coming your way. We are looking at working with a lot more startups, providing even more compelling offerings and getting more partners onboard to help you jump start your growth journey.

Flipkart Leap is a startup accelerator program by India’s leading e-commerce giant Flipkart, aiming to create an ecosystem of strong startups in the Technology and Consumer Internet space focused on the India Market.

There is no cost to the startup for joining the program.

For the first cohort of 2020, Flipkart shortlisted 8 startups to be part of the accelerator. This is flexible depending on the quality and relevance of startups applying to the program. For the second cohort, we will be communicating the details soon.
Early-stage startups with a working prototype and early adoption metrics with solutions in the focus areas mentioned in the section above. While the focus is on bringing digitization and tech advancement in these thematic areas, any startup working on disruptive solutions that have the potential to change the landscape of e-commerce in the next 5 years is welcome to apply.
An early stage start-up based in India: 1) With a working prototype and strong early adoption 2) That possesses an innovative and scalable idea coupled with a great team known for execution excellence.

Startups apply online. The applications are evaluated through a three stage screening process. Shortlisted applicants are invited for a final pitch session to the Flipkart leadership.

The final selection is based on the strength of the business idea/plan, team capabilities and relevance to the focus areas.

Flipkart Leap provides a unique opportunity for start-ups to learn from the most successful consumer internet company in India. This program is a platform to partner with an industry leader and learn from its experience while staying ahead of the innovation curve and scaling a business quickly to its full potential.

The learning cohort is an extensive program wherein start-ups are mentored by Flipkart technology and business experts, entrepreneurs, investors, and other industry leaders. Start-ups will learn to understand their customer’s needs and how to apply relevant frameworks for their business. Start-ups will also gain access to tools, platforms, investors, technology support, and business advisory services and gain a chance to work with Flipkart and its Partners

Start-ups have sole ownership of their existing IP as well as any IP that the start-up develops during the program. If Flipkart, chooses to sign-off on a deeper partnership with a start-up then intellectual property ownership might be re-visited to arrive at a mutually beneficial outcome.

Flipkart Leap provides access to technology and business mentors both from within Flipkart and from the ecosystem. Each start-up will be assigned technology and business mentors who share their expertise and connections within the organization and the ecosystem. Start-ups will also gain access to various Flipkart learning modules, specific training, and industry insights.

The program is aimed at helping participating start-ups improve their odds of success through relevant training, guidance and support. The program also seeks to explore possible partnerships with Flipkart’s internal teams and its partners

Any startup can apply to Flipkart Leap. This year, given the restrictions on travel, we will be running a Virtual Accelerator program. So, startups from any location can apply to us and benefit from this opportunity.

Select startups may be signed on for further engagement. The rest of the startups would be added to an alumni network to ensure continued exposure to Flipkart’s program and its participants.
